NSW Mining Collision Avoidance Forum

Seminars • Safety

The NSW Mining Collision Avoidance (Knowledge and Experience) Forum will be held on 22 March 2022, 9:00am – 5:00pm, at Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley.

Hosted by the NSW Resources Regulator and the NSW Minerals Council, this forum will provide an opportunity to share experiences, insights and learnings with industry leaders, suppliers and key technical personnel responsible for the implementation and development of proximity detection and collision avoidance technology across the NSW mining industry. The key objectives of the forum are to share knowledge of proximity detection and collision avoidance technology, identify and address hurdles to implementation and share learnings from industry experience.

Presentations will address a broad range of topics including legislative framework and approach, survey results and analysis and industry advancements, plus opportunities to learn from experiences outside of NSW and the mining industry.

Who should attend?

  • Open cut and underground mining industry leaders of proximity detection development and implementation
  • Mining leadership accountable for the implementation and development of proximity detection technology
  • Key personnel supporting the implementation and development of proximity detection technology, including engineering staff, suppliers and health and safety personnel

This is the first of three initiatives to advance the knowledge of collision avoidance systems and development relevant to the NSW Mining industry and collaboratively develop a strategic industry approach.
