Geophysical-geological interpretation maps

Geophysical-geological interpretation maps present an interpretive analysis of a specific geophysical survey dataset or area. These interpretation maps originated in the mid 1990s when large airborne geophysical, magnetic and radiometric surveys were commonplace. Often these maps cover areas where the bedrock geology is little understood due to significant soil cover, often hundreds of metres deep. There can be significant variation in the style of interpretation maps. These maps are generally produced at 1:100 000, 1:250 000 and 1:500 000 scales.

This page provides links to the different scale geophysical and geological interpretation series maps. Some of the maps are printed; others are print-on-demand. Where available, digital scans (JPEG format) and rectified images (ECW format) are provided as free downloads on the individual pages.
