Small Mines - 2021 Industry snapshot

Location: Online

Due to the impacts of Covid-19, the 2021 annual small mines safety roadshow workshops have been postponed until early next year.

In order to maintain engagement with the small mines sector during this time we have organised this webinar to enable us to provide an update on current health and safety matters. We will reflect on industry health and safety performance and provide a forward-facing regulator focus to assist small mine operators across the state to prepare for upcoming regulator engagements. This first session will also include important information on the newly updated practicing certificate application process.

A further webinar is being scheduled for 24 November as a follow-on to this event. Further information about the second webinar will be provided during this webinar.

Metalliferous Industry Safety and Health Engagement Forum (MISHEF)

Location: Online

The Metalliferous Industry Safety and Health Engagement Forum (MISHEF) is a collaborative meeting, hosted by the NSW Resources Regulator, to share knowledge across the metalliferous mining industry.

Our inspectors will review emerging issues and trends in metalliferous mines. Content matter experts are invited to present to the group on aspects of the trends and issues identified.

The meeting also includes a review of recent incidents, topical issues, updates on guidelines and standards, discussion of published safety alerts, bulletins, investigation releases and relevant incidents and events at mines for the previous six months. This event is an essential part of meeting continual professional development (CPD) requirements for holders of practicing certificates. It also provides networking opportunities and an avenue for direct communication with the Regulator.

Meeting attendees are encouraged to discuss key learnings from their experiences and participate in constructive technical discussion.

For more information about the meeting, or to request an invitation, please contact the industry engagement team, on rr.workshops@planning.nsw.gov.au
