Nominated contact person for mining leases

The holder of a mining lease must nominate a natural person to be the contact person with whom the Secretary can communicate in relation to the mining lease for the purposes of the Mining Act 1992 (clause 19 in Schedule 8A of the Mining Regulations 2016). This must be done using the form available on the Regulator Portal.

Any change in nomination or in the nominated person’s contact details must also be provided within 28 days after the change occurs.

Reports on non-compliance

The holders of exploration licences, assessment leases and mining leases must provide reports to the Resources Regulator detailing any non-compliances with a condition of the relevant title, a requirement of the Mining Act 1992 or the Mining Regulation 2016. This must be done using the form available on the Regulator Portal

Notification of development consents

The holder of a mining lease must notify the Secretary within 10 days of making an application for development consent that relates the mining area (or making an application to modify a development consent). Such notification is not required if the development is state significant development under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979. Notifications must be made using the form available on the Regulator Portal
