Video targets vehicle incidents

Vehicle incidents were the second-most common cause of fatalities at NSW mine sites over the past decade.

A fully loaded haul truck can weigh up to 624 tonnes. Travelling at 60 km per hour, it carries the same amount of energy as a light vehicle doing 948 km per hour.

The NSW Resources Regulator is dedicated to working with mine operators and stakeholders to reduce the number of collisions and near-misses to ensure everyone gets home safely.

The Regulator has produced a safety video targeted at the NSW mining industry, which shows what can go wrong in a split second.
