The Jumbo drill rig was being used to conduct drilling, bolting, and meshing.

The Regulator is investigating the cause and circumstances of the incident and will explore the mine’s systems for changing drill components, operation and mechanical condition of the Jumbo drill rig, instructions, training, experience and supervision of workers and processes.

The mine operator and other parties are assisting with the investigation.
