METEX mining engineering managers' forum

Workshops • Safety

The metalliferous mining engineering managers' forum is a collaborative meeting, hosted by the NSW Resources Regulator, to share knowledge across the underground metalliferous mining engineering discipline. The event is held with mining personnel at underground metalliferous mines who hold a Mining Engineering Manager Practicing Certificate or aspire to hold one in the near future.

Our inspectors will review emerging issues and trends in the application of mining engineering in underground metalliferous mines. Content matter experts are invited to present to the group on aspects of the trends and issues identified.

The meeting also includes a review of recent incidents, topical issues, updates on guidelines and standards, discussion of published safety alerts, bulletins, investigation releases and relevant incidents and events at mines for the previous three months. This event is an essential part of meeting continual professional development (CPD) requirements for holders of practicing certificates. It also provides networking opportunities and an avenue for direct communication with the Regulator.

Meeting attendees are encouraged to discuss key learnings from their experiences and participate in constructive technical discussion.
