Incident at Springvale mine

The NSW Resources Regulator has commenced an investigation into the death of a worker at Springvale underground coal mine north west of Lithgow.

At around 11:45 am on Friday 21 August a worker was reportedly found unconscious and unresponsive in the loader he was operating.

NSW ambulance attended the scene but were unable to revive the worker.

Inspectors from the Resources Regulator have been deployed to the site and an investigation has commenced to determine whether or not the death was work-related.

As the investigation is underway, no further information is available at this time.
